The price of gasoline nowadays is really overwhelming. It terribly makes our life even harder that there are even some people in some places that fight against one another in order to live and survive this economic crisis that the whole world is facing.
And because of gas price hike, Filipino scientist from different well known Universities are making so much effort in searching for alternative fuels. It's great to know that Filipino professionals are working together in achieving one goal which is to discover an alternative fuel.
"Microbiologists at the Ateneo de Manila University are also researching on the possible use of rice stalks that can be transformed into a feedstock for bioethanol, thanks to some fungi and bacteria that inhabit wood and other materials rich with cellulose. It’s biotechnology to the earth’s rescue."
"Biotechnology advocates are also pushing for the extraction of oil from malunggay seeds, which have 35 percent oil content, and these have edged out jatropha plants as viable sources of biodiesel."
I wish them all good luck and hopefully they will discover something beneficial.
